HELLO, HI, HEY / THIS IS ME

Hey, I'm
Pitcher.

Dawson Pitcher is my name, but on Discord and basically everywhere else I go by Pitcher because it sounds cool.

I like making useful things, helping teams run better, and occasionally pretending I know what I'm doing on the internet.

01 ABOUT THE PITCHER

I am good at the part where someone says, “Wait, can you also...?”

I am a communications major, a video editor, a shooter, a designer, a former 3D generalist, a hobby web dev, and a person who has spent a frankly silly amount of time trying to make esports teams less chaotic.

I am not claiming to be a great coder. I just know enough tools to turn a vague idea into something real, and I care a lot about whether the thing is actually helpful to the people using it.

MY TOTALLY SCIENTIFIC JOB TITLE

Person who keeps
asking “why do
we do it this way?”
02 THE ESPORTS BIT

I have done the boring stuff.
It matters.

I have managed a bunch of VALORANT teams over the years. I could list all the org names, but let's be real: tier-3 “orgs” come and go constantly and most of those names probably mean nothing.

The work does mean something, though. I like the behind-the-scenes part: getting the right people in the room, keeping communication healthy, and making sure the team can focus on competing instead of wrestling with logistics.

THINGS I HAVE ACTUALLY DONE
  • Building and rebuilding rosters
  • Staff coordination and team comms
  • Scrim, event, and registration logistics
  • Player welfare and day-to-day support
  • Making systems people will actually use
  • Turning “this is kind of annoying” into a tool

03 THINGS I MADE

Proof I am not
just talking.

These are screenshots because I made the tools, not a giant company with a marketing department.

WEBSITE PROOF OF CONCEPT / NIGHTBLOOD GAMING

“I'm not anything more than a hobby web dev, but I threw together a little proof of concept of what your site could be.”

I wanted to show what I think Nightblood could feel like online: confident, a little dramatic, and actually representative of the people doing the work. Is it a finished production site? No. Is it a useful conversation starter? I think so.

A TOTALLY DIFFERENT BALLPARK / CA KESTREL PROJECT

“Also, here's a basic WordPress-style website I made for a nonprofit I run.”

This one is intentionally less esports, more traditional web builder. I run the California Kestrel Project, and this is an example of taking a real organization with real information and making it easier for normal humans to navigate.

TOOLS / SYSTEMS / LITTLE INTERNET MACHINES

Things I made because the old way was annoying.

For the past month I have been helping OhSquad, a community-driven group. These are a few of the tools and systems I put together while managing one of the rosters.

01

TEAM SCHEDULING

OhSchedule

A no-password way for a roster to mark availability and find the best overlap for scrims, reviews, or whatever we were trying to coordinate that week.

Lockdown

An all-in-one workspace for strats, replays, VLR trends, agent data, scrim prep, and the other pieces that usually live in twelve different tabs.

Agent Banner Lab

A little banner generator so a community team could make consistent X banners without asking somebody to open Photoshop every single time.

04 THE NON-VALORANT SECTION

None of this is VALORANT.
But still.

I worked as a 3D generalist for a few years with sports brands like Nike and adidas. My day job nowadays is just normal video shooting and editing, though. Which is less glamorous to say, but much more useful on a Tuesday.

I can do graphics, photography, social media, video, and the occasional “please make this look less bad before 4pm.”

05 THE QUICK LIST

The skill pile.

Not all of these are equally polished, which is sort of the point. I know what I'm great at, I know what I can learn quickly, and I know when to ask somebody smarter for help.

So... can I
help?

I am not totally sure what role I am applying for, which feels on brand. I just know I want to get involved somewhere engaging, competitive, and hands-on.

If Nightblood needs somebody who can jump between player welfare, roster logistics, a website, a video edit, and a weird little tool, I would love to talk about it.

At least look at the proof of concept
